Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) and Reveal Imaging Technologies Inc. announced it was awarded a contract by the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) to provide services for the CT-80DR+Reduced-Size Explosive Detection Systems (RSEDS). The contract has a three-year base period and a total contract value of $20 million. The indefinite-delivery/indefinite quantity (IDIQ) contract has a five-year period of performance with a total contract value of $127 million.
Alexander Preston, SAIC senior vice president and business unit general manager said, “We are thrilled to have the opportunity to provide the TSA with the latest in RSEDS technology and we look forward to continuing to work with the TSA to improve the safety of U.S. air travel.”
RSEDS machines determine if checked luggage contain potential explosive materials and alert security officers if a threat is detected. SAIC will provide installation, training, and maintenance services for the CT-80DR+.
