    Salient VCU Student Team Wins Excellence in Design Award for Computer Science

    Salient Federal Solutions announced that the Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) senior student project team, which Salient mentored and supervised, was among the 2012 Excellence in Design Awards winners in the computer science category.

    Salient mentored students on a project that included the building of a versatile portal using the Oracle WebCenter suite and introducing the Agile Scrum approach of iterative development.  The team worked on developing online casino uk a high-end user experience that allowed for intuitive use of the portal by untrained users, incorporating collaboration features, and allowing for easy accessibility from various platforms including mobile devices.

    Bill Parker, COO of Salient said, “It is always an energizing and tremendous experience to collaborate with the minds of our future workforce and to see how they solve tomorrow’s challenges today.  In partnering with universities throughout Virginia, we look forward to working with the bright minds and leaders of the future.”
