KCG Will Provide Assessment and Authorization Services for GSA

Knowledge Consulting Group (KCG) announced that it has been awarded a task order by the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) to provide assessment and authorization services to the Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO), as a part of GSA’s Federal Acquisition Service.

Maryann Hirsh, President of KCG said, “Managing Information Technology (IT) security in any federal agency today requires a critical understanding of its risk posture by leveraging a risk management framework; assessing security controls and authorizing information systems to operate are two steps necessary for an agency to accept and manage risk across its enterprise.”

KCG will provide assessment and authorization artifacts and determine the security posture of GSA-FAS IT systems, allowing FAS management to make risk management decisions in granting an Authorization to Operate.  KCG will fulfill three key tasks; security assessment services, penetration testing, as well as risk reporting and analysis.

“We are excited to leverage the Risk Management Framework BPA and honored by the opportunity to support GSA in validating its current security controls, as well as examining safeguards to ensure they identify and minimize vulnerabilities to GSA-FAS’s systems.  We look forward to building on our extensive portfolio of cybersecurity services and furthering our role as the government’s trusted advisor,” said Chris Oglesby, KCG’s Senior Vice President for Business Development and Marketing.
