The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) awarded the Dwight D. Eisenhower Award for Excellence in research and development to ITT Exelis Information Systems division on May 22. The award recognizes large prime contractors for excelling in small businesses as suppliers and subcontractors.

SBA Administrator Karen Mills presented Wilson with the Eisenhower award at a National Small Business Week ceremony, in Washington, D.C. National Small Business Week recognizes small business owners for their achievements and contributions to the nation’s economy.
Exelis Information Systems’ dedication throughout the decade earned the company praise from SBA.
“Over the past 10 years, the Exelis Information Systems team has consistently demonstrated a commitment to support small business subcontracting and mentoring,” said SBA Region VIII Administrator, Dan Hannaher. “Exelis represents how corporate America can effectively partner with small business to match their customer’s demands with quality products and services.”
The SBA and the Defense Contract Management Agency has rated The Exelis small business subcontracting program the highest rank of “Outstanding” since 2009.
