Earlier this week Bob Gourley, Founder and CTO of Crucial Point, LLC, a technology research, consulting and services firm, spoke at the DC SplunkLive! 2012, held in the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center. In his keynote address, Gourley spoke to the crowd of 300 about the need to engineer security when automating information technology, not after that process.
Gourley also touched upon the three cloud computing technologies: data, utility, storage, along with the increased risks organizations are now facing thanks to the fast-pace technological innovation.
Gourley ended his address by highlighting the importance of user groups for IT leaders to share best-practices, lessons learned, and keep up-to-date on challenges facing the industry.
