Intelligent Decisions (ID), Inc. announced today that it won a contract to begin partnership with the U.S. Air Force (USAF) and Panasonic Toughbook® mobile computers to deliver Panasonic Toughbooks to American bases worldwide.

USAF will have access to two models, Toughbook 31, a fully-rugged notebook, and Toughbook 53, a semi-rugged notebook. Both provide a strong and reliable single point of access for USAF technicians to retrieve information on the flight line or during critical missions.

“Panasonic Toughbooks are a common sense, cost effective aviation solution for meeting the strict and wide-ranging requirements of the U.S. Air Force,” said Harry Martin, President and CEO of Intelligent Decisions. “Our military faces challenges every day with the flight line providing the beginning and end point for missions across the globe – Toughbooks help ensure the role of technicians is seamless and successful.”

Toughbooks allow USAF technicians to access digitized versions of technical orders and manuals, as well as parts databases to troubleshoot and repair aircraft. The mobile computers have passed USAF evaluated vendor solutions for performance, technical support and compatibility through testing and analysis. Toughbooks will be available effective immediately in the USAF e-tools program through February 2013.
