ITT Exelis has appointed B.J. Talley as its director of corporate communications effective March 7.

Talley will manage all aspects of public and media relations for Exelis corporate headquarters; he will report to David Albritton, vice president and chief communications officer for Exelis.

Talley is a long-time employee of ITT Exelis, previously serving in a number of communications positions at ITT Corporation and ITT Exelis, including director of communications at ITT Missions Systems Division; public relations manager at ITT Corporation headquarters; and most recently as the lead for employee communications, digital and social media at Exelis headquarters.

Talley’s communications career has led him to conduct media relations for Operation Iraqi Freedom, strategic communications at Booz Allen Hamilton and play an integral role for Maersk during the company’s response to the Maersk-Alabama piracy incident in 2009.
