Recently, Vistronix, Inc. announced the appointment of Robert W. Burkhardt, former Geospatial Information Officer to the U.S. Department of the Army and Director of the Army’s Geospatial Center in Alexandra, Virginia, to its Board of Advisors.

Most recently, Mr. Burkhardt was responsible for leading the Army’s Geospatial Center’s actions to coordinate, integrate, and synchronize geospatial information requirements and standards. As a member of the Senior Executive Service, he led the development and fielding of the Army’s geospatial enterprise-enabled systems and capabilities, including direct support to Warfighters. Before re-joining the Army as a civilian in 2001, Mr. Burkhardt worked at American Management Systems and had a 26-year career of active service in the Army, retiring at the rank of Colonel. He holds several degrees including a Master of Military Arts and Science from Fort Leavenworth, Kansas, a Master of Science in Geodetic Science, and a Bachelor of Science in Geology, both from Ohio State University.

President and CEO of Vistronix, Deepak Hathiramani said, “Mr. Burkhardt brings immeasurable, relevant experience on the federal geospatial information systems market. We are pleased to add such a distinguished executive to our Board of Advisors.”
