    DHS Approves Harris Corporation’s Mentor-Protégé Agreement With Unissant

    The Department of Homeland Security approved Harris Corporation’s mentor-protégé agreement with Unissant, Inc. The Department’s mentor-protégé program encourages prime contractors to assist in the development and maturation of small, disadvantaged businesses’ technical and management capabilities to provide greater assurance of successful contract performance.

    President of Harris IT Services John Heller said, “Harris’ mentorship with Unissant will strengthen our long-term business relationship and help to optimize both businesses’ opportunities and performance on contracts with the Department of Homeland Security.”

    Under the program, Harris will assist Unissant compete for contracts with the Department of Homeland Security. Harris will train Unissant employees on program management and the business acquisition process, as well as support Unissant’s initiative to attain Capability Maturity Model Integration Level 4 and Information Technology Infrastructure Library certification.

    Unissant’s President and CEO Manish Malhotra said, “Unissant has built an exceptional relationship with Harris and we anticipate synergies for both organizations within the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and beyond, to markets such as healthcare, education, the Department of Defense, and other government customers.”
