    Cognosante Awarded Contract With North Dakota Department of Human Services, Medical Services Division

    Cognosante has been awarded a contract with the state of North Dakota Department of Human Services, Medical Services Division. Under this contract Cognosante will provide Medicaid Recovery Audit Contractor (RAC) services.

    Cognosante President Mark Shishida said, “Cognosante brings extensive qualifications and experience in claims management and the recovery audit process. We look forward to assisting the state in improving provider payment accuracy.”

    North Dakota Medicaid Director Maggie Anderson said, “Our mission for this project is to improve the efficiency of detection of improper payments, which will ultimately benefit our citizens by ensuring their tax dollars are appropriately utilized.”

    Cognosante will utilize claims information to identify overpayments and underpayments made to providers. The company will also maintain a reporting system that tracks audits and reviews.
