3eTI Awarded Common Criteria WLAN Protection Profile Status At EAL 4

3e Technologies International (3eTI) announced today that products from its portfolio were awarded Common Criteria (CC) WLAN Protection Profile status at Evaluation Assurance Level 4 (EAL 4) from the National Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), a joint NSA and NIST security evaluation organization. 3eTI is an Ultra Electronics company and leading provider of highly secure wireless networks that enable critical systems security, infrastructure security and industrial automation. Though a number of 3eTI solutions formerly received CC EAL2 Certification for Basic Robustness Protection, this newest round of awards shows 3eTI’s commitment to achieving the highest possible security standards for its wide customer base.

A globally recognized ISO standard (ISO/IEC15408), CC is used by governments and other organizations to measure the safety and assurance of technology products. CC is shaping factor in purchasing decisions for security-conscious customers such as government agencies, who require that all information technology products procured by the U.S. Government for certain national security systems must be CC certified. This is good news for the federal government as EAL 4 is the highest commercial level that is achieved. This specifies that a product was methodically designed, tested and reviewed fully. The EAL 4 certification presents an objective means of security verification for those who wish for an external assessment of a specific 3eTI service or product.

“Our customers require strict assurance that their information will be handled with the most secure communications solutions today,” says Thurston Brooks, Vice President of Product Marketing for 3eTI. “This reinforces our company’s commitment to provide the most robust, innovative and secure wireless networking solutions available.”

3eTI prepared a range of U.S. and foreign Navy vessels and military bases with secure wireless LAN solutions and offers its clients the additional confidence that an EAL 4 certification provides.

Here is a list of 3eTI products have received CC WLAN Protection Profile EAL 4 status:

    — 3e-523-F2; OEM hardware
