Veronica Brown (pictured)  has been named vice president of Gibraltar Associates (GA), one of the fastest-growing communications firms in the United States. Brown’s main focus will be on scientific and technical communications, health care communications, social media and public awareness campaigns.

“We are thrilled to have Veronica join Gibraltar Associates,” said Eric Bovim, GA’s CEO and co-founder. “Her expertise in scientific and health care communications will add to our already expanding capabilities and growth trajectory.”

Brown previously worked for Burson-Marsteller as a manager in the public affairs sector. She led various outreach initiatives for the Department of Veterans (VA) and also served as a domestic media lead for the Bureau of Engraving and Printing’s (BEP) new currency public education program.

The Washington Women in Public Relations (WWPR) named Brown as a finalist for its 2011 Emerging Leaders Awards, which recognize women who are making a strong impact within the communications field. The winners will be awarded on July 26, 2011.

“GA is committed to recruiting top-notch professionals who truly represent the best and brightest in our industry,” said Jim Lake, GA’s president and partner. “WWPR’s recognition of Veronica as a finalist for the 2011 Emerging Leaders Awards is a testament to her talent, and is further confirmation of the high caliber of professionals clients can expect to work with at GA.”
