Cvent, a cloud-based provider of event management solutions, announced today the acquisition of CrowdCompass, a creator of mobile applications for business and association events.

CrowdCompass specializes in creating native mobile applications for all major mobile devices and has built 435 apps.

“With experience building hundreds of apps for a wide variety of mid to large-sized public and private events, the addition of CrowdCompass gives us unparalleled expertise in creating mobile apps for events,” said Founder and CEO of Cvent, Reggie Aggarwal.

Cvent and CrowdCompass will offer a solution that combines industry leading event management tools and the ability for planners to easily create apps for their business events.

“Our technologies and expertise will be a great fit with Cvent’s unmatched reputation and client base. We’re looking forward to all the services we will be able to develop under the Cvent umbrella,” said CrowdCompass Founder and CEO, Tom Kingsley.

Cvent was founded in 1999 and has over 950 employees worldwide.
