The Smithsonian Institution and ePals, Inc. revealed on Monday of a partnership in order to bring Smithsonian knowledge and resources in science, history, art and culture across the ePals social learning platform and product suite.  Teachers, students and parents can now utilize the educational content from the world’s largest museum and research complex for students K-12.

Smithsonian content will thread throughout ePals’ platforms, such as ePals LearningSpace®, ePals SchoolMail®365 and all ePals users in the ePals Global Community™.  LearningSpace users can explore Smithsonian projects and experience the exhibits, while SchoolMail sends weekly emails of interactive Smithsonian reading and writing activities.

Smithsonian on ePals also provides lesson plans for teachers, online discussions and produces classroom projects and activities while ensuring safe social media all at the same time.

“The Smithsonian Institution is excited to be fusing our rich educational resources with ePals’ industry-leading social learning platform,” said Director of the Smithsonian’s Center for Education and Museum Studies, Stephanie Norby. “By working together, we’re not just delivering Smithsonian content to a broad community of learners: we’re creating new opportunities for discovery, collaboration, and meaningful learning experiences.
