The Business Roundtable, a group of CEOs of principal U.S. corporations, announced W. James McNerney, Jr. as the new Head Chair for the organization. McNerney is the Chairman, President and CEO of The Boeing Company, and will start serving his position with the organization starting Sept. 1. Before earning his new position, he served on the Business Roundtable’s Executive Committee and Chair of Business Roundtable’s International Engagement Initiative. McNerney succeeds Ivan G. Seidenberg, Chairman and CEO of Verizon Communications, who served the group for three years.
“I am honored to have been elected the next Chair of Business Roundtable,” McNerney said. “I look forward to working with my colleagues in the business community as we continue to engage policymakers from both parties to ensure that American workers and American businesses prosper together”
In addition, David M. Cote, Chairman and CEO of Honeywell, Andrew N. Liveris, Chairman and CEO of The Dow Chemical Company and Robert A. McDonald, Chairman, President and CEO of The Procter & Gamble Company are now named Vice Chairs for Business Roundtable.
