Chris Lewis, Director of Market Development at Cognera Corporation, a frontrunner in complex billing and customer care solutions for the energy trade and utilities industry, spoke to telecom and utility executives at the B/OSS Live! Conference.  The event occurred in Washington D.C. on Friday.

Lewis contributed in a panel discussion called, “Smart Grid: The Role of the Back Office” where a discussion was led on the demand for complex billing and back office solutions in the smart grid roll out.

Lewis said, “With the modernization of the electric grid, the role of data in the back office and the importance of data to the end customer have forced utilities and competitive retailers to provide tools the meet a growing demand. The bill is no longer just a bill, but a gateway to understanding a key consumer cost.”
