As part of “National Small Business Week” celebrations, the US Small Business Administration (SBA) recognized nine small business leaders Friday with the “Champion Awards.”
The awards were presented at gala dinner in Washington, DC. The recipients include a businesswoman dedicated to helping other female-owned businesses succeed, a financial services “guru,” and a community activist advocating “economic gardening.”
“The SBA is proud to honor these men and women as champions of small business. Their tireless efforts have supported small businesses, local communities, and America’s economic recovery efforts,” said Karen Mills, SBA’s administrator. “They provide the counseling, advocacy, advice and support that small business owners need, and foster an environment where the spirit of entrepreneurship can flourish, resulting in economic growth and job creation.”
