This week, Salient Federal Solutions, Inc. opened a new education and training center in El Segundo, California, across from the US Air Force Base in Los Angeles.

The Salient Federal Solutions Education and Training Center, as the facility is formally called, will support the Los Angeles Air Force base’s Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) University. The facility is the first of its kind in the armed forces community, with custom, state-of-the-art onsite and distance-based training options.

“The Salient Federal Solutions Education and Training Center, coupled with the course development, teaching and facility operation support we provide the Space and Missile Systems Center University, will support sorely needed, dedicated training facilities to meet the needs of a 21st century workforce,” said Ed Salem, chancellor of SMC University. “The talented team at Salient has truly created a remarkable learning environment and helped develop an exceptional educational curriculum to ensure our workforce remains competitive and the best at what they do.”

To supplement the new facility, Salinet has created a centralized course management system, designed to both provide greater consistency across SMC, and to ensure each individual receives only relevant instruction. The facility also has the capability to provide support for other assignments remotely, such as at Peterson and Shriver Air Force bases.

“Our customers have some of the brightest personnel in the world, and we want to serve them by capturing, transferring and improving that knowledge,” said Brad Antle, Salient’s president and CEO. “We are proud of what has been accomplished here to better serve the Air Force and help to develop the workforce they need to continue to provide the nation with its superior space capabilities.”
