    Meet Katherine M. Ferguson

Passion for entrepreneurship and building companies define Katherine M. Ferguson’s personal brand.  Current manager of business development for Cooley, LLP, a leading law firm for growing technology companies, Ferguson uses those two magic phrases to help her strive at her job and help her clients’ companies grow.

In the department of  business development, Ferguson assists companies to meet their legal solutions goals and gives business advice and referrals to sources of financing, potential partners, key hires, potential buyers and sellers and other high-end service providers.

Ferguson considers her personal brand in the workplace similar to her personal lifestyle.  “For me, there is no line between work and personal,” said Ferguson.  “I’m very open and honest with people and consider many clients and business contacts my friends.”

When Ferguson, a native from Texas, isn’t in the office she enjoys staying active by playing golf and doing other outdoor activities.  She is a person who loves to be around others, which is why her job suits her.  What Ferguson lives by, and what she wants to advise others, is to do what you love. “Become known for your love and drive of whatever it is you are in,” recommends Ferguson.  “Always keep learning, giving and proving. Eventually, people will know you and others will want to know you.”

Ferguson also possesses a good amount of past work experience that has readied her for her position at Cooley LLP.  She was the Senior Associate at Korn/Ferry International, the world’s leading executive recruiting and search firm.  She also worked at CT Partners, an executive search firm, where she built leadership teams for venture capital private equity back technology companies.  In addition, she worked at Capitol Hill with the members of Congress and with the small business development team at CGI Partners, an integrator and government contractor company.

At the end of the day Ferguson is a continuing builder and connector of Cooley LLP, as well as a leader and guide to those businesses seeking growth.

That is most impressive. I did not know all that about Katherine. She is quite young, yet has done much.
