The Defense Department has awarded Catapult Technology, an IT contracting firm, a $4 million contract to provide security and information assurance services for Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA), with work to be focused on IT security.

The contract, which has a base value of $1.3 million with two option years, specifically asks Catapult to focus on protecting infrastructure, IT security, detecting and responding to IT threats, and upgrading certifications and accreditations.

Catapult is in charge of subcontractors from other companies, including Lockheed Martin, Inverness, and Excentium.

“Through this contract win, Catapult continues to enhance its solid relationship with the Defense community,” said John Scarcella, Catapult’s senior vice president for Enterprise Systems. “The contract expands our Security & Information Assurance work and builds upon current work with the DoD.”

DoDEA is in charge of kindergarten through 12th grade education for dependents of the DoD who otherwise do not have access to high-quality public education. The agency works both abroad, and in several states and US territories. It employees almost 9,000 educators, and serves 86,000 students.
